During a visit to the Studio national des arts contemporains in France, Louise Déry discovered the work of three artists who dealt with photography, film, video and digital images. This encounter spawned the project Myopie, an engagé examination by artists impregnated with the culture of the image, where the works’ resonance is amplified by the dialogue between them. The author brings into play the problems inherent in the production of a final work: the appearance of a brief instant of visibility and the evaporation of truths. Published in conjunction with the exhibition Myopie, presented at Galerie de l’UQAM from September 7 to October 6, 2001.
