Louise Déry analyzes the intellectual underpinnings of Sterbak’s oeuvre, which stands between scientific thought and artistic thought. The curator sees an index function in the drawings documented in this catalogue and “draws a perceptible line” between Louise Bourgeois and the Montreal artist in order to show a feminist relation. This publication was produced to coincide with the exhibition Jana Sterbak. Penser tout haut / Thinking Out Loud, presented at the Galerie de l’UQAM from May 9 to June 23, 2001.
